Hello, my name is Rakhsara Abbas. I graduated from Vancouver Career College’s Early Childhood Education program in September 2018.
My journey in Early Childhood Education began in the summer of 2016, when I worked as a substitute educator at BrightPath in Port Coquitlam. This experience inspired my passion for supporting young children. Since then, I have worked in several childcare centres across British Columbia and Ontario, gaining valuable experience with children of different ages, abilities, and backgrounds.
Wanting to deepen my understanding of infant and toddler development, I continued my education and earned my Infant and Toddler Educator Certificate in 2019.
Becoming an Early Childhood Educator has been one of my childhood dreams, as I always hoped to become a kindergarten teacher. I am fascinated by child development, especially the important growth and learning that take place during a child’s earliest years.
I love being an Early Childhood Educator because we play a meaningful role in children’s learning, development, and well-being. As educators, we create nurturing and engaging environments where children feel safe, valued, and encouraged to explore. By supporting their social, emotional, physical, and cognitive development, we help build a strong foundation and prepare them for a successful transition into kindergarten and beyond.
